Monday Madness -- February 10, 2014

Scott Gunn

Today is Viginti-tribus-gesima, with Lent Madness starting in just 23 days. With the crowning glory of Ash Thursday just around the corner, Tim and Scott have a question for you: Have you showed your love of the Lord by shopping in the Lentorium yet? There's not much more time. Hurry up and buy your Saintly Scorecards, bracket posters, mugs, and sundry items. Buy now!

Also, it's important to practice Lent Madness evangelism. Make sure you have liked us on Facebook, followed us on Twitter, viewed us on Vimeo, stared at us on Youtube, and whatevered us on Pinterest. Most important: encourage all your friends to like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.

Here is this week's video, chock full of cinematic mastery and cheesy effects. On the latter front, please note the debut of our brand new opening transition effect!

You can see more videos on our Vimeo channel. And make sure you watch Maple Anglican's excellent work over at LentMadnessTV on Youtube.

For sharing on social media, we have provided this handy image. It's free, unlike the junk great stuff in the Lentorium.

  1. Could you put Clergy Family Confidential on Facebook? I want to share it with the All Souls Facebook group. Thank you!

  2. Came home from work today to find my bracket posters and Saintly Scorecard waiting on my doorstep. Marvelous!!!

  3. Thanks, Margery. Best way to share my blog is simply to share the website: http://www.frtim.wordpress.com. And, Jan, thanks for your feedback. Two things you should know about Lent Madness is that we don't actually aim to please -- what you see is what you get -- and our production values match our pay (nil).

  4. As an organist, I must say that I *only* watch these videos for the excellent organ music intros, and, to be honest, I can't recall if I've ever viewed anything beyond them.

  5. The fourth and fifth graders at St. Philip's Episcopal in Durham, NC are psyched and ready to go! I made a Bingo game with the names from the Saintly Scorecard. Even with just the names they learned a lot: that saints come from all over the world, and are not limited to one part of time. 10 year old Collin is daring you to prove to him that J.S. Bach should be up there "because he's a composer, that's it." Pronunciations are tough, but I told them that Shcereschewsky is sort of like Krzyzewski, which they got. The parents are pumped and ready to help the kids vote at home! I can't wait (Go Merton! Go Simeon!)

  6. Well, SEC....I will do my best to drum up interest as I am known as the maniacal Lent Madness Deacon from the Cathedral who will bend anybody's ear. I'm eagerly awaiting the onset and the first match! However, I do not do FACEBOOK as I do not need 4,000 new best friends and I will not tweet on TWITTER. It's all I can do to send this to you. Some of us aren't too techno-efficient...or whatever we are or are not this year. Give my best to Lady Jane who will probably need to assist me with ordering again as that's not my long suit either.

  7. Hi Scott,
I am neither cheap(just financially challenged)nor lacking in love for Jesus! I have my saintly scorecard and already know who I'll be voting for, in the absence of Fred Rogers(and no I will NOT knock it off!) one must settle.
    Fred Rogers+Fred Rogers+ Fred Rogers+Fred Rogers+Fred Rogers+Fred Rogers+Fred Rogers+etc, ad infinitum!!!

  8. BTW...who is the saint on the right side, second one in, who is wearing sunglasses? any input to settle this admittedly small detail would be helpful. I'm pretty sure it's not Fred Rogers and no I won't knock it off. I tend to fixate on minutiae.
