Monday MadnessThis week, Tim and Scott talk about essential preparations for Lent Madness as we continue to bask in the glow of Celebrity Blogger week. To get ready for Lent Madness, everyone should research the saints, perhaps using their own copy of the Saintly Scorecard (book or ebook). Everyone should also complete their bracket, available for free download or purchase as a giant poster. It's also a good idea to invite all your friends to like Lent Madness on Facebook and follow @LentMadness on Twitter. No, really. Use your Facebook and Twitter feeds to shamelessly promote the saintly smackdown. For Jesus, of course.

FlyingGoldenHaloThere's also very exciting news this week from the Lentorium. We have a product ready to ship, the Flying Golden Halo! Yep, you can buy your own Golden Halo, perfect for tossing and catching. It's just $3, so why not buy 50? Your church service will be immeasurably enriched when you "pass the peace" next Sunday by tossing a halo to everyone around. Buy now!

  1. You guys are absolutely nuts!! And I love you...and Lent Madness...such a cheerful, upbeat site...lone may it continue. It's also informative, one learns a lot. Thank you very much indeed.

  2. the plastic golden halo is a BRILLIANT idea. i'm sure in years to come you 2 will have thought up a bunch of other cool things. since i live in new orleans and Mardi Gras is just days away those golden halos would make great parade throws.....people throw frisbees from floats so why not halos!

  3. I didn't know we were supposed to complete the bracket ahead of time! I've always just voted for the pairs day by day as they were posted and then put the results on the brackets.
I guess I viewed the brackets as more of a record- keeping device.
So now I'm confused. What do I tell my congregation to do? We've got all the Saintly Scorecards and the wall poster.'m

    1. hey Grace. I think you could do it either way. just think of the possibilities of having a pool about who has the most accurate bracket!! they could even win a mug! I just fill them in as i go along because i want my Saintly Scorecard to be accurate

    2. After some input from one of the men in our congregation last Sunday, I threw together a bracket pool. We are inviting people to complete brackets during coffee hour and put their name and favorite charity on them as well as donate a dollar or more. We will donate all the funds to the charity the winner chooses.

  4. Mirth has been sorely lacking in our denomination, for a long time. This is all very good.
It would be nice to find friends at church,
instead of yet more agenda bearing enemies.

  5. Love the thought of in addition to passing the peace we can pass the Golden Halo! Unfortunately when I have played frisbee usually I hit people's heads BUT doesn't mean I won't purchase any for my parishioners though.

  6. I have been sharing my new obsession about Lent Madness with the staff at my local public library (they sort of wondered when I checked out 15 books on the Saints). None of them are Episcopalian so I figure this may be my way of sharing my faith. A purple Jesus, who would have thought? Keep the faith and keep on truckin'
