Monday Madness -- February 16, 2015

February 17, 2015
Scott Gunn

The moment you've been waiting for is almost here. Yes, the Purple Fever is building toward Ash Thursday, coming up later this week. In this week's episode of Monday Madness, Tim and Scott talk about how to prepare for Ash Thursday, and they explain the bare shelves in the Lentorium, much like the bare shelves in the milk aisle at the Hingham Supermarket.

If you are intrigued by the idea of acquiring your very own Golden Halo Flying Disc, just pop over to Forward Movement's website for this and many other Lent Madness items. Rumor has it you can find other resources for Lent there also.

ResizeImageHandler.ashxIt's not too late to read the Saintly Scorecard on your Kindle, Nook, or iThing.

Remember to tell all your friends to like Lent Madness on Facebook and follow @LentMadness on Twitter. To get the full SEC effect, you'll want to follow @ScottAGunn and @FatherTim as well.

With the first day of voting hours away, it's time to get serious about Lent Madness. Except for Ash Wednesday, when we encourage you to be serious about repentance.

  1. Looking forward to tip-off. We again at St. Paul's Milwaukee join in the fun and daily joyful discipline of learning and voting. Sure beats other polling places these days. We get really juiced - and oh, yeah - what is that other madness in this time frame?

  2. LOL! I love you guys. What would Lent be like without the Golden Halo and all of the saints that write about (just lost our electricity!) the Saints? I have learned so much and enjoyed every moment the past couple of years. 2015 looks to be just as enlightening.

  3. This will be my third Lent Madness (Thank you, Paul Castelli). I can't believe how much I am anticipating it this year.

  4. So glad you, the Executive Council (aka Poopahs) are dressed appropriately for the weather! Sorry to see that your area is getting pummeled by winter weather for the last month! This, however, will not stop Lent Madness from commencing this Thursday! Huzzah! Two days and counting!
p.s. (My daughter has only recently become a convert to the Madness and she is now a bonafide fanatic! She can't wait to start voting 🙂

  5. Just want to make sure that students at my school can all vote from school computers without us being accused of voter fraud...

  6. I had to chuckle a bit by the thought of "being slammed by three inches of snow". In Michigan's Upper Peninsula (Diocese of Northern Michigan) we like to say, "Two to three inches of partly cloudy" [hence, doesn't really count].
    Looking forward to Thursday.

  7. We're getting ready to participate in Lent Madness at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Dallas, TX! Will give all the details to those not-yet-in-the-know tonight at our pancake supper. Looking forward to a meaningful and Saintly Lent.

  8. What a blast. We enjoy the fun competition here in Brighton Michigan. Hoping to 'smells and bells' the competition again this year. Peace to all.
