Monday Madness -- March 21, 2022

This week Tim and Scott talk about how they've discovered another bracket-based tournament that people are talking about. That other one even has a similar name to Lent Madness. The audacity! Still, in a spirit of generosity, Tim lists some of the teams in the other big bracket that have saintly connections.

On Thursday this week, the Saintly Sixten kicks off, and Monday Madness helps you know what to expect as the next phase of the Saintly Smackdown begins.

This is here for social media sharing, or you can print it out, laminate it, and enjoy a new placemat.

  1. Saints related to Sweet 16: Gonzaga, Villanova, Providence Friars & Cinderella St. Peter’s Peacocks! Hope they make it to the Great 8!

  2. I'm wondering how my wife Betsy (whom I registered to Lenten Madness w/ e-mail of *****@*****) can start getting e-mails from you so that she can in turn vote for her choices. Currently, we have just one vote for both of us, and we'd like to have 2 votes.

    1. You don't need to receive emails to vote. They are just reminders. So an alarm clock works just as well. That said, you can both sign up for emails. Just use two different email addresses.

You can both vote. Just make sure you use different devices -- laptop, phone, or tablet.

      1. All one needs to do to vote is go to lentmadness.org, in fact you do not even need to type the www. part at the beginning anymore, unless you are using a device to surf the web that has really outdated browse software on it.

  3. Look forward to Saintly Madness every spring, it would not be lent without it. Thank you for keeping us grounded and having fun, I know that our Lord approves.

  4. As a proud Saint Peter's Alumna I say GO PEACOCKS! And as Saint Peter is not in the Saintly 16 (but the PEACOCKS may win the Sweet 16), I say GO ST THOMAS OF VILLANOVA!

  5. Interesting to hear about the other "bracket" thing going on but the Lent Madness is the most exciting! Thank you for packaging fun and education together each year in Lent.

  6. I voted for Emma of Hawaii as my favorite novel is Jane Austen's EMMA! Read EMMA everyone! I am the former President of the Jane Austen Society of N. America, so I have the right to recommend the novel!

  7. I realize it's probably a clever and subtle way to retain copyright over Lent Madness®' intellectual property, but just in case it's not, I suggest you change "Saintly Sixten" in today's post to "Saintly Sixteen".

  8. Thank you Tim and Scott for once again providing us with Lenten Madness and for your clever dialogs and humor each week. Thank you also to the celebrity bloggers. I look forward to this every year. Happy Lent!
