Monday Madness -- Elate Eight Edition

Everyone is talking about brackets and championships because...it's the week of the Elate Eight! As we reach the dramatic peak of Lent Madness XIII, Tim and Scott are back with a preview of the eight teams, er saints, that have earned berths in what is also known in penitential circles as the Round of Saintly Kitsch.

This is the time of year when some people get grumpy about Lent Madness. Instead of going back and reading the basic biographies and quirks & quotes from previous rounds, they turn into Kitsch Kranks. The Supreme Executive Committee is here with their annual reminder of the Great Commandments of Lent Madness.

This is here for social media sharing. You can also print out this photo and paste it on your mirror so that you remember we're moving on from the Saintly Sixteen to the Elate Eight now.

  2. Always look forward to Monday Madness from the SEC.

I'm fairly new to Lent Madness so I'm not sure about ordering a mug from the Lentorium. The link doesn't work for me so I'm unsure if merch is already sold out or hasn't yet been posted for sale. Advice from others/SEC appreciated.

    1. The mugs are available for pre-order/order once there is a winner until whenever they sell out.

The winner is announced on Spy Wednesday aka the Wednesday of Holy Week.

  3. I would love to see, in the future, a filling out of the scoreboard as the saints are nominated. I don't have all of them recorded, and so will have to guess at who has won some of the battles.

    1. The bracket does get filled out as the days go by. It is on the lengmadness.org site.

  4. Thoughts I have been pondering:
*2023 Lent Madness: George T. Dog offer some commentary and
Tim and Scott do some liturgical dancing?
*Significant groaning about the "jaywalking" comment
*Last, but certainly not least, Kitsch Kranks, get over yourselves!
