Monday Madness -- Holy Week Edition

It's Holy Week, and that means it's time for the last in-season episode of Monday Madness for the 2016 Lent Madness competition. Tim and Scott talk about the exciting battles to come in the Faithful Four and Championship. In light of a cheating scandal earlier today, they also remind viewers that it's one vote per person. The way to win Lent Madness is to get others to vote, not to vote lots of times yourself! Cheating gets you cast into the outer darkness.

As you're voting for the Golden Halo winner, you're also deciding who goes on this year's Lent Madness commemorative mug. You can pre-order the 2016 Golden Halo winner mug right now! You'd better do it, because if the mug factory gets backed up, pre-orders get priority! While you're online, make sure you check out the full gallery of mugs for sale in the Lentorium.

Monday Madness -- Kitsch Kranks Edition

Every year around this time, the Kitsch Kranks come out of the woodwork. These are Lent Madness fans who enjoy the first two rounds of the Saintly Smackdown but who do not enjoy the Elate Elate, the Round of the Saintly Kitsch. So they try to toss their humorless wet blanket on everyone else. Well, rejoice, fans, because Tim and Scott take on the Kitsch Kranks in this week's episode of Monday Madness.

There's another important reminder. Today is the last day to send us your #LentMadness #MugShot if you want a chance to win your own Ultimate Saintly Kitsch, a life-size cutout of St. Francis of Assisi. Post your photos on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook. Just make sure they're public, so the SEC can see them! Remember to double-hashtag them #LentMadness #MugShot.

In today's episode of Monday Madness, Lady Edith and Lady Mary both find love. Or not. This is the last week to get your submission in so that you can possibly win your very own St. Francis! Deadline is March 15, so hurry up and post your #LentMadness #MugShot.

Monday Madness -- February 15, 2016

Francis at GCIn today's episode of Monday Madness, Tim and Scott report that the 2016 Lent Madness season is off to a good start. They also announce big news. Big as in you can get your own life-sized St. Francis of Assisi cutout. Wow! Watch the video to learn the details and see the actual St. Francis cutout who might come to your home or church. On an unrelated note, to add even more value to this already priceless video, for those who can't remember the Ten Commandments of Lent Madness, the SEC also shares the first and greatest command of Lent Madness, whilst Scott has discovered the audio effects menu in iMovie. You're welcome.

KJS with mugYep, that's right. Post your very own mug shot -- that is, a photo of yourself with a Lent Madness mug -- and we'll pick a lucky winner who will receive the Lent Madness 2015 Golden Halo winning St. Francis of Assisi, the very same cutout that was at the Episcopal Church's General Convention last summer and was photographed with countless church luminaries. To participate post your photo on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter and double hashtag it with #LentMadness and #MugShot. We'll pick the photo that best exemplifies the spirit of Lent Madness, and we'll probably share quite a few of the others. Your deadline is March 14, 2016. Enjoy!

If you don't have a mug, you can borrow one from a friend. Or you can visit the Lentorium or the Forward Movement website and buy your own mug. We have Francis mugs, Charles Wesley mugs (2014 winner), Frances Perkins mugs (2013 winner), or always-in-style purple Lent Madness mugs. You can also pre-order a 2016 Golden Halo winner mug, but it won't ship until Eastertide, so it's not helpful for the mug shot context. Anyway, buy the whole set! They're collectible!

Monday Madness -- February 8, 2016

In the last regular episode of Monday Madness before the kickoff of Lent Madness 2016 later this week on Ash Thursday, Tim and Scott remind viewers of a timeless classic video by the mysterious Maple Anglican, the video which explains how to play and how to vote in Lent Madness. It was mentioned earlier today in Lent Madness Voting 101 on this very website. You should watch it now! While you're in the mood, you might also want to watch a more recent video by Forward Movement staffers Hugo Olaiz and Peggy Sanchez about Lent Madness. Hugo is a Celebrity Blogger, and Peggy is a Major Fan.

By watching this week's episode of Monday Madness, you also learn how to cope with the fact that printed Saintly Scorecards sold out. It turns out that unlimited quantities are available electronically, so go ahead and buy the scorecard for your Kindle reader, Nook thingy, or Apple iGizmo.

Ye Merry Olde Monday Madness

Purple Union JackThis week, the Supreme Executive Committee brings its missionary endeavours for the cause of Lent Madness to the shores of Merry Olde England. Watch Scott deftly dodge double-decker buses, whilst Tim works wonders under the withering gaze of oil paintings. Hear about the opening day of Celebrity Blogger Week. And learn why Westminster Abbey will be known to the ages for Lent Madness, not just as the wedding chapel for the royal family. Given more time, the SEC contemplates adding a good deal more purple to London.

Make sure you get your Saintly Scorecards and giant bracket posters before they're out of stock. Supplies are limited for both items! You're going to want them, because both the scorecards and bracket posters are printed in full colour.

Monthly Madness -- September 2015

Get ready, world. The Pope's visit is about to be overshadowed by the biggest religion story of early autumn. Yes, friends, it's time to reveal the lineup of 2016 Celebrity Bloggers. Scott and Tim have the goods in the latest episode of Monthly Madness!

We bid farewell to several retiring Celebrity Bloggers, whose jerseys are now hoisted to the rafters in the LentDome. We also welcome five new Celebrity Bloggers: Anna Fitch Courie, David Hansen, Beth Lewis, Hugo Olaiz, and Derek Olsen. Please note we now have two doctors and a nurse in the house in case of medical and/or spiritual emergency.

As usual, the Supreme Executive Committee urges you to show that you love Lent Madness (and Jesus) the most by spending your hard-earned money in the Lentorium. In addition to the standard mug spiel, they are hawking Meet the Saints, a family storybook published by Forward Movement about the saints of the church. Check it out -- it's part of a free, downloadable curriculum for congregations in which children, youth, and adults can learn more about saints and how Jesus' light shone brightly in women and men through history. Get yours now, for free, using these links for children or youth/adults.

Most important, mark your calendars for All Brackets' Day, November 3, and get ready to stare at your browser at 8:00 am Eastern time as the Lent Madness 2016 bracket is unveiled. It's not too early to queue up for a good seat by the computer.
